This outing designed for food and wine enthusiasts begins with a 30-minute drive into the Corfiot countryside.

Wine has been produced on Corfu since the time of Homer’s Odyssey and one of the island's most beautiful wine estates is Ambelonas Corfu. This is where the Karounou family has tended vines since the 1600s, using traditional pre-industrial methods in a spectacular natural setting.

One of the owners will accompany you on a walk among the vineyards and herb plantations, providing an overview of the vast range of products grown and produced on this property.

After your walk, enter the estate's main building to learn all about the Corfiot tradition of wine and olive oil production, and the role of olive oil in local cuisine.

Check out the ancient olive press; then, take a seat in the beautiful shaded area outside. A cooking demonstration showcases traditional dishes and preparation techniques, and offers a delicious preview of what you’re about to eat!

A wonderful five-course lunch features delicious taste sensations prepared with local produce -- Corfiot olives and topinambour (Jerusalem artichokes), herbs and fresh ingredients. Local red and white wines perfectly accompany the meal.

Leave the estate with a greater appreciation of Greek cuisine and with a cookbook from the owner, filled with recipes you can make at home.

Notes:
