Your day commences with a drive through the colorful capital of Castries, passing Derek Walcott Square and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Head up the hill towards Morne Fortune for a photo stop and time to enjoy the beauty of Castries laid out below you.
Pass through the lush interior of Cul De Sac Valley's fields of green and gold en route to the sleepy village of Soufrière, nestled at the base of St Lucia's imposing Pitons.
Visit the famous Sulfur Springs, often referred to as the world's only drive-in volcano. This historic site is the result of volcanic eruptions 300,000 years ago. Smell the sulfur fumes as you enter the gates and see the mud pools bubbling and boiling on the earth's surface.
Morne Coubaril Estate boasts a wealth of colorful tropical plants. Stroll along the pathways to the old copra house and learn all about the many different products that are derived from this ubiquitous fruit.
The traditional method of drying cocoa beans will be demonstrated; along with how the cocoa sticks are rolled. The secret ingredient to the enjoyment of it all is the 'cocoa dance'.
A delicious array of local snacks, rum punch and fruit juices await you at the end as you enjoy the enchanting surroundings and listen to the melodious sounds of the Shac Shac band.
Participants must negotiate stairs and/or uneven surfaces. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or those with mobility limitations. The walk from the bus to the main viewpoint is approximately 10 minutes, but guests can remain at the first viewpoint if they wish. The route will be winding and bumpy; guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Minimum age is 8 years. Maximum weight is 250 lbs.
