Experience the diversity St Lucia with a panoramic countryside and coastal drive.

Passing through the city of Castries, you will see the vibrant traditional market, the century-old basilica, and Derek Walcott Square, named for the island's Nobel Laureate.

Take in the wide view of the capital city and its beautiful hinterland from Morne Fortune. You'll weave along a dramatic ridgeline that bisects the landscape. On one side is the bustling city; on the other side is a wealth of lush banana plantations. Mountains wrap around the entire scene, creating a true spectacle.

The nearby Bagshaws Art Studio offers a live silkscreening demonstration.

Travel through quaint rural communities before the dramatic descent into the Rodney Bay village. This urban environment dominates the northern coast of the island. Your guide will point out the modern homes, resorts and world-class yachting marina.

You will stop briefly at Pigeon Island for photos of the spectacular coastline and the neighboring island of Martinique on the horizon.

Return to Castries after this wonderful introduction to the unexpectedly stunning coastlines and byways of St Lucia.
