Approximately 4 Hours
Sail the day away in Ilhabela on board a two-masted schooner.
You'll motor for 45 minutes through the São Sebastiao Channel, a two-mile wide canal between the island and mainland. Strong winds have earned the island the title of Sailing Capital of Brazil and it hosts various international sailing competitions.
Watch for Pereque Beach and the downtown area.
Long before attracting thousands of visitors with its charm, Ilhabela was a popular destination among pirates and buccaneers who used its bays and canals for shelter while they counted their loot and made repairs to their ships. Listen to your tour guide as some fascinating stories unfold during this narrated tour.
Upon arrival at Curral Beach, you will have approximately two hours to swim and relax in the sun before returning to the ship.
Bring insect repellent. Not suitable for guests who are allergic to insect bites, as small mosquitoes are seasonally present. Place your belongings (wallet, cell phone, camera, camcorder, etc.) in a re-sealable plastic baggie before leaving the ship, to protect them from the significant humidity. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen and a hat.
