Travel via air-conditioned van along the Gulf to the other side of the island, as your driver tells you all about Key West.

Your adventure kicks off as you set out to explore the mangrove creeks and grassy sea beds from the seat of your kayak, paddling from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic.

Enjoy a leisurely and informative guided nature kayak over crystal clear waters, allowing you to spot many fish and other underwater animals -- as well as a variety of birds -- along the banks of the mangrove trees.

Your guide will identify a variety of life above and below the water. Common sightings include conch, sea cucumbers, sea stars, sponges, tropical fish and the occasional shark, ray or manatee.

Bird-lovers will enjoy frequent sightings of herons, egrets, ibis and pelicans.

Jump back into the van and travel along the Atlantic side of the island back to the pier. This excursion is suitable for paddlers of all levels. First-timers are welcome.

Notes:

Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Bring a change of clothes; wear sunscreen and a hat. Minimum age is 7 years. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed.
