Discover the people and places that made author Ernest Hemingway fall in love with Cuba, following in papa's footsteps from Old Havana to the shores of Cojimar.

First, travel by bus to Hemingway's former home, Finca Vigia and learn about the author's attachment to Cuba and its people. Explore with your guide the fishing town of Cojimar, which served as inspiration for the novel, The Old Man and the Sea.

Back in Old Havana, a visit a local graphic arts workshop where various artists create and display their work will provide the opportunity to engage with local artisans. Learn about their inspirations and the print-making process. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Discover the Plaza de Armas. This is the center of town and is where Papa Hemingway resided when he first moved to Cuba. Visit the Plaza de la Catedral in one of the five main squares in Old Havana. Enjoy an hour of free time to explore and interact with the locals. Visit a couple of Hemingway’s local hangouts for an opportunity to sample a traditional Cuban cocktail.

From the cobblestone streets of Old Havana to the shores of Cojimar, locals like to think that the spirit of Papa Hemingway still lingers in the Cuban air.

The cooperative that operates the graphic arts workshop on this tour does not charge admission but welcomes a donation of $1CUC per guest.
