Explore the Napier region with a farm visit to Clifton Station and a pleasant countryside drive. From the port, travel along Napier’s Marine Parade, lined with lovely Norfolk pines.
Follow the coastline to Clive before turning towards Cape Kidnappers, where Clifton Station farm is located.
For several generations the Gordon family has farmed Clifton Station, in a region where sheep farming is still the leading industry.
Inside the heritage woolshed you will see a sheep being expertly shorn, while outside you will be entertained by a sheep dog demonstration, where a small flock of sheep are rounded up by a highly trained "eye" dog who doesn’t bark, but instead stares intently at the sheep to make them do exactly what the farmer wants.
Next enjoy light refreshments at Clifton Bay Cafe, which has a stunning beachfront location looking across Hawke’s Bay.
From Clifton Bay, you’ll take the beautiful Tuki Tuki Valley drive up to the summit of Te Mata Peak, where you will have panoramic views over the Heretaunga Plains and Hawke’s Bay.

In the pretty town of Havelock North, stop at the Arataki Honey Centre for a taste of Rush Munro's - Hawke's Bay's famous 100% natural ice cream. You will have the opportunity to taste some of the 10 delicious varieties of Arataki Honey before returning to the ship via Napier’s legendary art deco district .
Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair. There is a short section of winding road on Te Mata Peak.
