Discover Mexico Park, the Papantla Flyers & Chankanaab National Park
Information not currently available.
Begin your day at the Discover Mexico Park -- an unforgettable immersion into cultural traditions from the Mayan Riviera to Oaxaca and Chihuahua. You can tour replicas of Chichén Itzá and other pyramids built by the early Aztec, Maya, Olmec and Totonac peoples, as well as Spanish colonial-era monuments, cathedrals, and Mexico City's elegant main boulevard. Stroll through tropical gardens ripe with coconuts, papayas, and bananas.
At the Museum of Popular Arts, admire black-clay pottery, quirky alebrijes (carved wooden animals), brilliant textiles and handicrafts fashioned by Native artisans.
Don't miss the amazing aerial show performed by the Papantla voladores or 'flyers' -- daredevil acrobats who hang upside down from a pole.
Cozumel's popular Chankanaab National Park is the perfect place to rent snorkel gear (at your own expense) and mingle with rays, sea turtles, and hundreds of colorful fish around an unspoiled coral reef. Watch the interactive sea lion show or tour the botanic gardens -- home to huge, fiery heliconias and other tropical plants. Kids can blow off steam at the playground or on a small beach inlet.
A guide at the park answers questions and arranges transportation when you're ready to return to the ship.
Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen and a hat. Snacks are available for purchase at your own expense.
