Experience the cool clear waters of one of Jamaica’s magnificent rivers, as you learn the rich history of the 2,000-acre 18th-century Good Hope Estate, see the ruins of the plantation, and live the legends of old Jamaica. An ancient tale about an Arawak Native witch surrounds this river. She knew were gold was stashed and she was captured by the Spaniards who wanted her to lead them to the gold. Instead, she led them to the entrance of a cave and used her powers to change the course of the river. The cave was flooded, and the rest is quite obvious.

Your adventure begins on the Martha Brae River with you tubing down the scenic route that runaway slaves took to freedom and plantation owners followed in hot pursuit.

Find gold if you are lucky under the cut stone bridge and visit the Trading House -- the only store of its kind in the Caribbean.

Purchase unique souvenirs and pottery, or the authentic jerk chicken (at your own expense) that was first made right here on the plantation.
