On this tour you will enjoy the beauties of the Southern Galicia.

Begin with a drive up Mount Castro or Mount La Guia, offering a terrific view over the Vigo Estuary and Mount Castro. Located among the forest here are the hill-forts and ruins that constituted the early settlement of Penso Castle. The 17th-century Tower Castle is still standing.

Continue to Bayona -- one of the most significant fishing villages on the Galician coastline. Visit the remains of the old walls dating from the 16th century, and view monuments that show the status of this village. These include the Romanesque church, which was built in the 13th century -- it was a collegiate church from 1482 to 1850 and boasts a marvelous Romanesque rose window up in the main façade.

You have some free time to either remain in the village or walk up along the walls of the Castle of Monterreal, now a hotel, which occupies the whole of its own small, fortified peninsula.
