Enjoy the Pura Vida Gardens named the number one garden in Latin America by Integrated Conservation Research Group and the number one garden in Central America by the Tropical Sierra Foundation. This garden, unique to Costa Rica, is a visual masterpiece. The design begins with the natural beauty of Costa Rica's spectacular flora, fauna, waterfalls and views of the Pacific and adds thousands of species of plants.

You will see a wide variety of orchids, not only from Costa Rica but from all over the world. The manicured walkways meander along a river or at the crest of a mountain and are easily accessible to people of all ages and levels of fitness.

There is an easy walk to see the one of the tallest waterfalls in Costa Rica. The panoramic views of the Pacific coastline are spectacular, thanks to the elevation at which the gardens are situated. This allows you to see miles of coastline, islands, and the Nicoya Peninsula.

Due to the many flowering plants, butterflies are abundant in their natural setting. The gardens are also a bird-watcher's paradise. In fact, many avian enthusiasts note this spot as the best vantage point for bird-spotting in all of Costa Rica.

Next up, you'll cross the Tarcoles Bridge at a pace that will allow you to scour the surface of the water below to see if you can spot a few members of the river's immense population of crocodiles. The view from above is truly a study in reptilian fascination!

Before you return to the ship, you'll visit the Pura Vida Gardens to shop, sample delicious tropical fruit, or savor a cup of Costa Rican coffee.
