Approximately 5½ Hours
Visit the famous and infamous Pearl Harbor and see the Arizona Memorial. At the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center, you will view a 20-minute film depicting the events of the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack and the aftermath. Then, you'll board a Navy launch for a harbor tour of Battleship Row -- the area where eight US battleships were moored during the attack on Pearl Harbor. The boat will circle the USS Arizona Memorial allowing for views and photo opportunities. More than 1,000 servicemen still lie entombed in the sunken USS Arizona.
Embark on a tour of metropolitan Honolulu, taking in the downtown area and City Hall, as well as the authentic Chinatown district. Other sights include the Iolani Palace (the only royal palace on American soil), Kawaiahao Church, the impressive statue of King Kamehameha, the Hawaii State Capitol, the governor's mansion, and the quaint homes of the early missionaries.
Experience the serenity of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific as you drive through Punchbowl Crater.
Visit the famous Nuuanu Pali Lookout for a spectacular view of the windward coast of Oahu. The Pali is the site where King Kamehameha the Great vanquished his enemies and unified the Kingdom of Hawaii.
After the tour, there is an optional drop-off at Hilo Hattie for shopping.
In the unlikely event that the harbor cruise around the Arizona Memorial is cancelled due to exogenous factors (including inclement weather, rains, high winds, water debris and/or Navy cancellation), additional time will be offered for visiting many of the Arizona exhibits and visitor center. The National Park Service has closed the Arizona Memorial indefinitely for repairs. During this period, the Navy tenders' ability to dock at the USS Arizona Memorial has been suspended. Participants will still enjoy a comprehensive experience at Pearl Harbor with the wealth of attractions available at this iconic site. When repairs are completed and docking resumes, this tour will include a visit to the Arizona Memorial. Due to increased security measures, the following items are prohibited along with any other items that allow concealment: backpacks, diaper bags, fanny packs, camera bags, purses, luggage, shopping bags, and large cameras. Baggage storage will be available at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center for a nominal fee. There may be a delay at Pearl Harbor as timed entrance tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. While waiting, you can visit the exhibition center, view the interpretive displays depicting the attack, or purchase a light refreshment from the café (at your own expense). Modest attire is required for the cruise around the USS Arizona memorial; sandals are permitted, but short shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, clothing with inappropriate slogans, etc., are not allowed.
