An awesome journey into the past, today's tour starts with an overview of pre-Columbian history at the National Museum of Anthropology & Archaeology. This astonishing facility contains an unforgettable collection of ceramics, textiles, metals, organic materials and lithics related to human remains; these objects remain preserved with techniques that still surprise specialists.

Drive to the ruined city of Pachacamac, whose name means 'the One who ordains the Universe'. The city was built around AD 700. You will explore the temple remains once dedicated to the ancient gods of the sun and the moon, and see evidence of a sophisticated irrigation and reservoir system. The ruins provide clues about the original inhabitants.

Proceed to a beautiful hacienda where the doors are open for you to enjoy its facilities. After attending a traditional and colorful Peruvian exhibition of prancing horses, known as the paso, enjoy a typical lunch at the hacienda. Tastefully built and decorated in Republican style, this is the private home of a distinguished Lima family. Over the years, the owners have become famous as expert breeders of the Caballo de Paso horses -- a breed unique to Peru.
