Travel along roads dotted with colorful produce and local people as you make your way to the Hacienda el Castillo. Here you are afforded a close-up look at the natural scenery of the tropical lowlands of Ecuador. The approximately 45-minute scenic journey through the Ecuadorian countryside reveals rice paddies, sugar cane plantations, and an array of natural tropical vegetation.

During a delightful visit to the hacienda and surrounding land, you'll have the opportunity to observe all phases of cocoa production -- from the greenhouse to sowing, harvesting, fermentation, drying, and the final product, which is chocolate.

Adjourn for a deliciously authentic hacienda-style lunch before the return drive to the pier.
