Depart Monaco on the Middle Corniche road that winds along the coast as far as Nice, where you will drive through town, passing the famous Promenade des Anglais.

Head inland to St Paul de Vence, leaving behind the coastal sceneries and entering a verdant and rural surrounding. Perched high upon an escarpment, St Paul de Vence is the quintessential fortified town of Provence, and its ramparts are still amazingly intact.

Painters such as Modigliani, Signac and Soutine met at a local café, which has since become the sumptuous Colombe d'Or. Your guide will accompany you on a discovery walk through the narrow streets, taking you back in time by narrating the history of this unique town.

During some free time, browse among the art galleries and handicraft stores, or hunt for the perfect souvenir. You can sit back and relax to soak in the tranquil atmosphere before returning to Monte Carlo via the freeway.

St Paul de Vence is open to pedestrians only. Participants must walk over inclines, cobblestones and steps to visit the town. From the coach parking area, a 10- to 15-minute walk leads uphill to the village. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience.
