A Spanish-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a Spanish interpreter). A limited number of Spanish guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment. This is not a bilingual tour.

Your tour will commence with a visit of the Museum of the Olympic Games, housed in a beautiful neoclassical building overlooking Olympia. Here you will learn about the different events in which the ancient Olympians participated and can marvel at several archaeological finds.

Ancient Olympia is located in a valley formed by the river Alfios. Your guide will take you walking through the main ruins of this site. You will see the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Zeus (where once stood the gold and ivory statue of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the Old World) and the stadium, with the marble blocks that marked the starting point even On your site. After spending almost 1,500 years in oblivion, Olympia returned to life when the 2004 Olympic Games held here the competition of throwing of weight.

Your next stop will be the Archaeological Museum, which is not far from the stadium. The museum exhibits treasures unearthed in over a hundred years of excavations. One can see parts of the temple's tomb of Zeus, which includes scenes commemorating the carriage race of Pelops and illustrates the mythical war between the centaurs and the Lapiths. You can also see the Hermes of Praxiteles, Winged Victory of Peonius (the figure inscribed on all 2004 Olympic medals) and a helmet bearing the inscription Miltiades, the name of the commander whose forces defeated the Persians in Marathon.

After leaving the museum you will enjoy a break drinks and snacks before returning to the port.
