Leaving from the port of Málaga, it's a one-hour drive to Nerja. Here you switch to a 4x4 vehicle and drive to the town of Frigiliana. Note the Moorish influence in the whitewashed houses that line the narrow, winding streets. This is where your journey through rural Málaga Province begins. Your destination is the village of Competa -- famous for its sweet wine -- but from Frigiliana to Competa, the road is suitable only for off-road vehicles.

Set out by 4x4 vehicle through the steep mountains of Almijara and Tejada & Almijara National Park. You will stop at the picturesque village of Acebuchal, located deep in the mountains. This landscape is a forgotten paradise of Andalusia and you will take a coffee break here to enjoy the scenery.

To visit several other villages in the Axarquía region, you must ascend to an elevation of 3,608 feet above sea level. This is where the topography showcases a true nature splendor, with white limestone rocks creating wild watercourses that run headlong in a hasty rush to the plains below.

After crossing the entire National Park by off-road vehicle, you will arrive at Competa village. Rest here and taste the sweet local wine along with typical Spanish tapas, cheese and Parma ham.

The route back to the ship is equally scenic.
