This magnificent trip is a chance to experience the wonderful, natural beauty of the mountains of Mijas in an idyllic way -- riding on horseback. An added bonus -- your steed is one of the magnificent horses of Andalusia.

A 45-minute transfer brings you to the La Paz Ranch. Listen to an introduction before your guides evaluate your experience level and assign a horse to you.

Set out on the trail -- a one-hour ride over shaded countryside. You'll wind among Cypress and pine trees with stunning views over the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola and, in good visibility, the coast of Africa in the distance. The route passes eucalyptus trees, olive groves, and orange and avocado plantations with views of the white village of Mijas nearby.

After the ride, head back to the ranch to relax over some tasty tapas, including Spanish ham and cheese, tomatoes with garlic, olives, bread, wine and water. Special requests can be accommodated for an additional fee.

Return to the port afterwards.

Notes:

Wear long pants. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Wear sunscreen. Maximum weight is 220 lbs. Minimum age is 14 years. Minimum height is 2 feet. Absolute beginners may be accompanied individually by a staff member during the trail ride. The horses will only walk; no trotting or galloping.
