A German-speaking guide leads this tour (or a guide with a German interpreter). A limited number of German guides and interpreters are available in this port; book early to avoid disappointment. This is not a bilingual tour; please see Jameos del Agua & Mirador del Rio for the same tour guided in English.

The highlight of this excursion is examining the architectural wonders of the Canaries' most famous artist -- Cesar Manrique. An excellent, scenic drive takes you through northern volcanic terrain to the less-visited part of the island. Travel through Teguise, the island's former capital, and on through charming whitewashed villages.

A photo stop at the Haria viewpoint affords a view of the Village of A Thousand Palms.

Continue to Mirador del Rio to take photos from this fabulous high viewpoint, architecturally designed out of local lava rock and glass. The panorama you will appreciate is one of wild and virtually unspoiled coastline landscape. Magnificent views from the high cliffs of Famara extend to the islands of Alegranza, La Graciosa and Montana Clara.

Jameos del Agua is yet another of Manrique's beautifully landscaped architectural pieces. View the entry point to the longest underwater Atlantic sea cavern, as well as endemic miniature blind crabs only found here on Lanzarote. Admire tropical rock gardens, a pool, the theater, and the House of Volcanoes Research Center.

At Jameos del Agua, participants must negotiate stairs and uneven surfaces.
