Your bus departs Apia's pier for a panoramic drive along the East Coast Road, passing through colorful villages along the way.

The road winds along the coast, giving you a chance to savor the fresh ocean air and view the waves crashing against the reef surrounding the island. You will see villages where the occupants of the homes are either working in the town or in plantations nearby.

Head into the hills and up to Le Mafa Pass -- a scenic drive inland through a wide valley lined with steep, jagged mountain ridges. At Sopoaaga Falls, a family from the village provides a short coconut-husking demonstration, showing how Samoans make use of every part of the coconut.

As you drive through the village of Latofaga, your guide will explain how it has been rebuilt to its original condition after the devastating tsunami of 2009.

Relax on the white sand of Manu Sina Beach or swim in the clear water. Lunch is served here and consists of freshly cooked taros, palusami, fish and a selection of fruits.

A cool coconut drink is served before you return to the ship.

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, aqua shoes, sunscreen and a hat.
