From Port Chalmers, travel along the eastern shores of the Otago Harbour to Dunedin city. Turning to the western shoreline, you’ll head along the Otago Peninsula toward the small settlement of Portobello.

After a safety briefing, gear up with a life jacket; then, begin paddling your sea kayak along the rugged but beautiful coastline.

Step ashore during a beach stop to stretch your legs and to enjoy some light refreshments.

Along the way, you may see many forms of marine life including magnificent royal albatross, yellow-eyed penguins, New Zealand fur seals and cormorants.

Re-board the mini-coach for the one-hour return drive to the ship.

Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Tour operates weather dependent. In the event of rough sea conditions at the head of Otago Harbour, an alternative area for kayaking around St Martins Island will be substituted. Maximum weight is 240 lbs (110 kgs) in order to fit into the kayaks. Minimum age is 10 years.
