Enjoy the sights of Espiritu Santo's scenic countryside en route to the Blue Lagoon. Your journey by non-air-conditioned minibus will take you northeast, past seemingly endless coconut plantations, herds of cattle, horses, and quaint villages.

The lagoon is fed by a freshwater spring. Aqua-colored water surges upward in one part of the lagoon, creating a slight simmering effect on the surface, and the surrounding lush, green rain forest offers an inviting escape from the tropical heat. This sunny and tropical location is a mere 30-minute scenic drive from Luganville's wharf.

Steps leading down into the lagoon allow you easy access to the azure waters where you can swim and cool off while enjoying the tropical, fragrant surrounds of the native flora.

Local people offer a variety of souvenirs and handicrafts at the stalls nearby. Hair-braiding and relaxing massages are available for an additional cost.

On your return journey you will pass by the Agriculture Station, Chief's Nakamal and local government offices.

The transfer to the beach is not guided. Bring bottled water. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat. You will need cash to purchase refreshments, souvenirs and hair-braiding, or to treat yourself to a massage. Australian currency is accepted. Restroom facilities may be very basic. Bottled beverages are available at an additional cost.
