The Abrolhos Islands are located about 60 kilometres west of Geraldton, and consists of 122 islands clustered into three main groups. These islands not only are an important source of supply for the rock lobster fishing of Western Australia, but they are famous for their historic shipwrecks. The most famous of all the shipwrecks is the vessel Batavia, which ran aground in 1629. Pristine clear water, an abundance of wildlife including sea lions, dolphins, migratory whales and birds are some of the other characteristics that make the Abrolhos Islands so special. Today, you get a bird's eye view of this massive marine system, as you fly over the Southern group of the Abrolhos including the Easter Group and Wallabi Islands. Your scenic adventure includes a short stop on the East Wallabi jetty where you enjoy some tea, coffee and cake, before your return flight back to Geraldton over Long Island, Beacon Island and the Batavia Wrecksite.
