This easy and interesting sightseeing tour visits one of the most secluded areas of the island.

Aboard an air-conditioned motor coach, enjoy spectacular views of the lush island of Roatán while your guide briefs you on the history and culture. Along the way, you will pass fishing villages and stop for photos at various points. Purchase souvenirs from the local vendors at open-air kiosks if you wish.

Continue your journey up and down the hills, admiring amazing views as you drive along the coastline. Stopping at a local jetty, you will hop onto a motorized raft for a transfer across the water to French Cay. This is a tiny, secluded resort located atop a peninsula and overlooking two very different beaches. The blue lagoon offers a breathtaking setting, surrounded by palms, cliffs and mangroves.

Sit on the panoramic restaurant terraces while you watch the Garifunas (descendants of the African slaves who came here in 1797) performing a traditional dance to the sound of their drums. Enjoy a refreshing drink and an appetizer platter. There’s time to jump into the turquoise waters for a refreshing swim.

On the way back to Mahogany Bay, enjoy a brief stop at a panoramic point to view a romantic stilt-village, inhabited by pirates in the past and now the home of family-owned fishing companies that, after many decades, are still a major source of revenue for the islands.

A limited number of lounge chairs are available on the beach. Showers and restrooms are available. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen, a hat and insect repellent.
