JOB DESCRIPTION

Show Operations:

  • Responsible for scheduling meetings with Guest Entertainers, Music Directors, and other applicable staff to determine the needs of each show.
  • Oversee and assist with all technical support for entertainment department activities and programs in all shipboard venues.
  • Coordinate schedules and assist with any additional equipment or staffing required for special groups or events (parties, meetings, rehearsals, activities, shows and other functions as necessary).
  • Call all production shows.
  • Assume active responsibility for the form and discipline of rehearsals and performances.

Maintenance:

  • Coordinate with onboard engineering staff to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of entertainment department systems. Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumable supplies.

Administrative:

  • Prepare regular reports and voyage paperwork as directed by the Entertainment Manager-Operations and Production Managers.
  • Maintain prompt book which is defined as the accurate playing text and stage business together with cue sheets, plots, records, and diagrams as are necessary for the actual technical and artistic operation of the production shows.
  • Manages and maintains staff work schedules and hours. Provide detailed explanations for all overages.
  • Main point of contact for cast.
  • Ensure compliance with all administrative directives.

STAGE AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

Stage Automation Technicians maintain and operate the main showroom rigging system in a manner that does not compromise the safety of your area and equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Show Operations:

  • Safely operate automation machinery on the stage of the main lounge for all performances and rehearsals.
  • Lead the stage crew and staff in safe assembly and strike of production scenery.
  • Assist other technicians with day-to-day projects as needed.
  • Provide technical support for all Entertainment Department activities and programs.
  • Co-ordinate schedules with ETM of parties, meetings, rehearsals, activities, shows, and other functions as necessary.
  • Assist with any additional equipment or staffing required for special groups and events.

Maintain all Entertainment Department show scenery and stage rigging equipment

  • Regularly maintain system as outlined in the system operator’s manual.
  • Co-ordinate with onboard Engineering staff and ETM to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of entertainment department systems.
  • Follow up on status of work orders and repairs.
  • Ensure that items in storage are safely secured against movement of the ship.
  • Ensure that pianos and other heavy objects are secured against movement of the ship in accordance with company policy.
  • Remove from service any equipment deemed unsafe by yourself or the Entertainment Technical Manager.
  • Ensure the equipment is kept in a clean orderly fashion.
  • Retire any equipment showing wear or damage immediately.

Administration: Ensure compliance with all Administrative Directives, including, but not limited to:

  • Preparing reports as directed by the ETM, Entertainment Technical Supervisor, and Manager – Entertainment Technical.
  • Maintain automation operating logbooks.
  • Conduct daily testing of the Emergency Stop system. Maintain the log and indicate which tests have been conducted.
  • Maintain an inventory of all automated equipment used, tools, and lifting apparatuses used for overhead lifting, and ensure inventory is available for Officer’s inspection or any other designated inspection entity.

LIGHT TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Safety:

Always puts safety first. Follows guidelines and checklists in place to protect employees and guests. Complies with all responsibilities outlined in all Administrative Directives to include but not limited to:

  • Using only approved charges, supplied by Advanced Entertainment Services
  • Does not repair or modify any pyro equipment
  • Keeps all charges properly stored
  • Ensures safe firing distances are maintained
  • Ensures all safety protocols are followed and in place
  • Conduct demonstrations for all new staff members
  • Inform Seattle of any product misfires
  • Shall be trained by AES personnel or by HAL Production Manager

Show Operations:

  • Operates lighting, control systems and instruments, and other equipment such as pyrotechnics, video, confetti, and other effects for all rehearsals, presentations and shows as required. Meets with Cruise Director, ETM, Guest Entertainers, Company Manager, and Music Director to determine the needs and set up of each show, including lighting design and show-time pre-set and strike.
  • Provides technical support for all Entertainment Department activities and programs.
  • Co-ordinate schedules with the ETM and Event Manager for parties, meetings, rehearsals, activities, shows and other functions as necessary.
  • Co-ordinate and assist with any additional equipment or staffing required for special groups, events, and charters.
  • Prepare reports as directed by the ETM, Entertainment Technical Supervisors, and Manager – Entertainment technical.

Maintenance:

  • Maintains all Entertainment Department Lighting equipment
  • Co-ordinate with onboard Engineering staff to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of entertainment department systems. Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumable supplies such as lamps, gel, fluids, tape, batteries, etc.

AUDIO TECHNICIAN

Audio Technicians are responsible for operating the man showroom sound system and maintaining all sound equipment while they are onboard.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Show Operations:

  • Operate sound and/or other equipment such as video, confetti, and other effects for all rehearsals, presentations and shows. Meet with Cruise Director, Entertainment Technical Manager, Guest Entertainers, Company Manager, and Music Director to determine the needs of each show, as well as the set-up for that show, including set up and strike down. Operate the main lounge audio system including PA, monitors, amplification and instrument/vocal reinforcement.
  • Advise, assist, and coordinate any additional audio needs, equipment or staffing required for parties, meetings, rehearsals, activities, shows, charters and any other special groups or events.
  • Provide knowledge and assistance to staff working in other venues in other audio installations across the ship, and technical support for all Entertainment activities and programs.
  • Assist in the assembly and strike of production scenery as instructed by the Entertainment Technical Manager.
  • Ensure that the “life” of the mix is foremost, and that qualitative decisions based are on the needs of the performance to the best of your professional judgment.

Maintenance:

  • Maintain all Entertainment Department sound equipment ship wide, and maintains audio system as outlined in the system operator’s manual.
  • Make repairs to equipment when possible.
  • Co-ordinate with onboard Engineering staff and ETM to facilitate repair of broken equipment and maintenance of Entertainment Department systems. Maintain inventory of spare parts and microphones as well as all other audio equipment.
  • Follow up on status of work orders and repairs.

Administration:

  • Prepare reports as directed by the ETM, Entertainment Technical Supervisors, Production Managers, and Manager- Entertainment Technical.
  • Maintain an inventory of all automated equipment used.
  • Ensure items sent off for repair are subtracted from inventory, and items returned will be officially added back.
  • Ensure items removed from service are removed from inventory.
