Wine Extravaganza

Approximately 3 Hours 15 minutes

Bulgarians worship wine for its ability to challenge both the senses and the intellect. The country prides itself on a millennia-old legacy of winemaking. In fact, the wines of ancient Thrace were praised by Homer in both the Iliad and the Odyssey.

Board your coach for a panoramic drive through Varna's downtown, crossing the 173-foot-tall Asparuchov Bridge to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

Continue to the Ethnographic Museum of Varna, where tools and casks revealing the Bulgarian wine-production traditions of the 19th century are exhibited.

Now that you know about Varna's traditions and present-day outlook, it's time to indulge in the exquisite quality, taste and flavor of red and white Bulgarian wines. A sommelier will acquaint you with the specific technology and the Bulgarian touch added to the production of each wine. This is a rare chance to taste the best Bulgarian wines right from the cellar.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to purchase the wine of your choice if you so desire.
