Memories are priceless and so are the images that capture them. Vacation photos help tell the story of our adventures and the people with whom we shared them. Yoga, one of our onboard photographers, knows this well. Often seen with a camera in hand, he\u2019s always ready to get that perfect picture for guests during a Holland America Line<\/a> cruise. From Orange Party festivities to moments when icy-blue glaciers are your backdrop, he often sees an incredible photo before others do. We caught up with Yoga to learn what it\u2019s like to be an onboard photographer, and what he loves most about working for Holland America Line.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> \u201cIt\u2019s really fun being an onboard photographer,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery week there\u2019s something new, and you meet thousands of people all around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Yoga enjoys capturing special moments, like when a guest sees Glacier Bay National Park<\/a> for the first time, or a family celebrates a special occasion on board. The best part of working for Holland America Line though, Yoga said, are the people he meets and the places he visits. From Alaska<\/a> to Asia<\/a> and everywhere in between, the diversity of cultures and experiences has been enriching and awe-inspiring. It has also given him the opportunity to be an amazing visual storyteller.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> Yoga\u2019s passion for photography began in junior high school when he signed up for the photo club. At the time, he didn\u2019t own a camera so he used his phone to snap images instead. The more he fell in love with photography, the more a hobby turned into a professional aspiration.<\/p>\n When he saw an opening for an onboard photographer with Holland America Line, he didn\u2019t hesitate. For the last two years, he has cruised to breathtaking destinations, including Alaska<\/a>, the Panama Canal<\/a> and the Caribbean<\/a>. And it doesn\u2019t matter if it\u2019s landscape, portrait or wildlife photography \u2013 he loves it all.<\/p>\n When he\u2019s not behind a camera on board, he enjoys exploring the shore and immersing himself in a good book.
