June brought another month of unforgettable memories and fun at sea, as well as multiple moments celebrating those who make the journey possible \u2013 our employees. Pride Month<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

June is Pride Month in the U.S. and in many parts of the world<\/span>, celebrating th<\/span>e unique history, culture, and contributions of <\/span>the <\/span>LGBTQ+ <\/span>community. On June 25, Holland America Line <\/a><\/span><\/span>employees and allies came together <\/span>to walk in the 2023 Seattle Pride Parade <\/span>in the spirit of community<\/span>, inclusion and belonging. <\/span>It’s<\/span> just one example <\/span>of ways<\/span> our employees come together to care for and uplift each other.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Recognized as an international day of observance on June 25, Day of the Seafarer celebrates the contributions and dedication of professionals in the maritime industry. We are incredibly grateful to our crew members \u2013 who come from 70 different countries around the world \u2013 for creating unforgettable moments for our guests, communities and each other. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

June 23 marked the annual celebration of International Women in Engineering Day. Grateful for the talent and contributions of all women in engineering, we couldn\u2019t help but recognize and share the story of one of our own: Milagros Talip. Milagros made history at Holland America Line after joining as our first female machinist in 2022. Originally inspired and taught by her father, she developed a deep passion for welding and even contributed to the tallest bamboo sculpture that made the Guinness Book of World Records.
