Following our afternoon of soccer (football) in Bermuda, Veendam hosted a crew barbeque and party for our crew as well as our Bermuda soccer opponents. The weather was just the tiniest bit rainy, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time.

As part of the celebration for Filipino Independence Day, Maasdam’s Filipino community organized a Maasdam Idol competition in the Show Lounge. Many participated, but there could only be one winner: Melanie Rose Valderama Corpuz, one of our beverage attendants. The audience had a great time and enjoyed all performances.
Zuiderdam’s deck team was recently honored with the Voluntary Observing Ship (VOS) Award for their weather observations in 2011. This is the third year running that ms Zuiderdam has received the award. Special thanks to Sorin Colan, Zuiderdam’s Image Creator Manager, for the photo.
