On March 30, Noordam’s Deck Storekeeper Mardi Sani Thalib received an award for 35 years of service during our 140th anniversary celebration. This was a very special event for Mardi, as he will be retiring from Holland America Line at the end of April.

I recently presented Veendam Staff Captain Paul Spaas with his 25-Year Service Award. This special occasion was celebrated in style with a surprise dinner in the Pinnacle Grill restaurant. Bas van Dreumel is Veendam’s captain.

Frans worked with Holland America Line for almost 30 years and was a very popular and appreciated presence on board.
