Eurodam Bids Farewell to Captain Jeroen van Donselaar

Last week was a big week for Captain Jeroen van Donselaar – as it was his final week on the Eurodam it seems just fitting that he would have one final plaque and key ceremony as one of his final duties before moving over to the Noordam. As Captain Van Donselaar has been with the Eurodam since she was in the yard, we did a small celebration on December 30th to commemorate his legacy on board and everything he has done to help make this ship successful. During the celebration he received a few gifts that included a “Going Away” video highlighting various crew and special moments on the Eurodam. We wish him the best of luck and though he will be very much missed on here we all look forward to sailing with him again in the future. Special thanks to M. Reza Pahlevi, Eurodam’s human resources clerk, for the photos.

We sailed with the Captain on three different trips on the Eurodam – enjoyed each one. Best Wishes as you move to another ship – maybe we’ll see you there.

    Dear Captain,
We were so lucky to have spent this past Christmas week with you on the Eurodam and will make it a point to book on the Noordam in the future. Have a wonderful vacation with the family.

I’m booked on the Eurodam for the repositioning cruise from Amsterdam to NYC and was very disappointed to hear Capt van Donselaar won’t be on that ship any more. I sailed with him on the Maiden voyage and met Pam at that time. I was hoping Rowan would be on the ship with the two of them in August/September. Good luck on the Noordam.

My husband and I sailed on the Eurodam this past Christmas week. Our first port was Grand Turk and we arrived early in the morning to a very brisk wind. Although it took Capitan Van Donselaar a couple of attempts he got us docked with the efficiency of a seasoned capitan. Another ship came before us and never even attempted to dock. Capitan Van Donselaar saved the day and we will miss sailing with such a competent man.
