Congrats to Nieuw Jakarta Graduates!

Robert “Nick” Nichols, Nieuw Jakarta’s academic director, sent us the following note and photos from the center’s recent graduate ceremonies. Nieuw Jakarta is HAL’s crew training center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Congratulations to Nieuw Jakarta’s 110th class and graduates of the stateroom attendants skills class held at Nieuw Jakarta. Participants of the stateroom class received training on the latest curriculum including a variety of topics such as perfect bathroom set up, bed making, applying chemicals in the bathroom, U.S. Public Health policy and procedures, how to show a stateroom to guests (using ms Nieuw Jakarta’s mock staterooms), embarkation assistant procedures, customer service training as well as other topics related to their job function.

Congratulations are also in order for Nieuw Jakarta’s latest graduates of the messroom attendants, assistant personnel cooks and storeroom attendants (MSA 145) classes. Participants received training on a variety of topics such as extensive English language training, messroom equipment and equipment care, safe food service, basic sanitation procedures and hygiene, and familiarization with all locations and fixtures on board as well as other topics related to their job function.
