Amsterdam Awards Crew for Years of Service

Aboard Amsterdam we had the pleasure of celebrating the milestones of some of our very hard working crew members. These pictures are from our September Service Awards and retirement celebration for Boatswain Aris who received his 40-year service award.

Congratulations Oky and Firdaus. How lucky were we to have Oky as our dining steward and Firdaus as our room steward on our sailing, 24Aug-7Sep. It was alot of extra work for them because of the Gastro illness. Thanks for a great time, its nice to see your faces again,

I have not seen or heard HAL use the term “Staff Captain” in the past. Is this something temporary, or is the rank of “Staff Captain” replacing “Chief Officer” for the person who is 2nd in command of the ship and head of the deck/navigation department?

Aris will definitely be missed, Christopher – Staff Captain is the new term company wide for Chief Officer.
