Cruise Diary: Port of San Diego

Special thanks to HAL guests and blog contributors Sharon and Al Johnson for sharing with us these photos of Statendam from their visit to the Port of San Diego.

Recently we were in San Diego and discovered that the Statendam was due to be at the San Diego cruise dock on Friday, December 21st. We decided to stay in San Diego until the Statendam left San Diego for Ft. Lauderdale. While photographing the Statendam, we spotted Statendam Future Cruise Consultants Thom and Tina Faulkner returning to the ship. We had sailed with Thom on the Prinsendam several years ago. It was an overcast day in San Diego. But during the Statendam’s sail-away there was a fantastic sunset. The Statendam had just returned to San Diego from it’s 30- day cruise to Hawaii and Tahiti. She left San Diego that day for a cruise through the Panama Canal to Ft. Lauderdale. – Sharon and Al Johnson

That sunset picture is great! Love the look of the HAL ships, too.
