A fantastic and successful Weihnachtsmarkt (German Christmas market) was held on board the Eurodam to celebrate the holiday season. The marshaling area, thanks to the technical, housekeeping and stage staff, was the site of the holiday festivities with around 20 stalls. Entrance to the spotless garbage room on the Volendam where they even “recycled” garbage into Christmas ornaments. These guys were rightfully as a team chosen as employees of the month in September 2010. Team work matters here.
This year I decided to do something special for the Zaandam crew, so I purchased over 60 pounds of chocolate and packed it into 600 cute Christmas presents. The packages were placed on their pillows on Christmas day so everyone could enjoy a nice selection of chocolates. Ioana Cheregi is Zaandam’s human resources manager.
