Wine Pairings from James Suckling’s Chef’s Table Dinner During his Food & Beverage Aficionado Cruise

During the recent Food & Beverage Aficionado Cruise aboard Oosterdam hosted by Holland America Line’s Wine Curator James Suckling, guests were able to attend an exclusive Chef’s Table dinner. On the cruise, James was joined by Italy’s Marchesi Frescobaldi and Chile’s 2018 Decanter Man of the Year Eduardo Chadwick, two renowned experts. The trio paired each of the courses with an exceptional wine, and we’re sharing his pairings to give you ideas on what wine you can serve at home.

Sounds like some perfect pairings! If you’re interested in cruising with one of our Culinary Council members or beverage experts, David Burke will be on Zuiderdam in September, Ethan Stowell is scheduled to be on the Sept. 16 Alaska cruise on Amsterdam and Dale DeGroff will be on Oosterdam in November.

We have had the pleasure of attending some Cellar Master dinners and were totally amused and entertained by them. Holland has such a good reputation for good food and hospitality and never disappoints! If we can swing a good fare for the up coming Alaska sails with gourmands aboard we will.
