Sirio Maccioni, legendary restaurateur and founder of Le Cirque, and his wife Egidiana, recently served as guest chefs on board Noordam to the delight of guests and crew alike. The Maccioni’s hosted two culinary demonstrations in front of a packed audience inside the ship’s Culinary Arts Center where they taught guests how to make Le Cirque’s famous Lobster Salad and Crème Brulee and a special Maccioni family Raviolo recipe. Mrs. Maccioni even sang a few Italian songs for the audience. The pair also hosted a special event introducing the new expanded dinner menu at Le Cirque, where Mr. Maccioni donned his ringmaster outfit alongside Noordam’s event planner Michelle McDowell and Hotel Manager James Deering. Later, Micky Arison, chairman and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc, paid the Maccioni’s a surprise visit and the group indulged in an Italian summer lunch in the ship’s Pinnacle Grill.
