Whether you’re enjoying a live music performance, gathering with friends or just unwinding after an exciting day ashore, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as pairing these experiences with a well-crafted cocktail.
Our Master Mixologist Dale DeGroff, also know as “King Cocktail,” reigns when it comes to unique and refreshing libations. As past guests know, his one-of-a-kind creations can be found all throughout our ships – from the Gallery Bar & Explorer’s Lounge to the Ocean Bar and Tamarind Bar. However, if you haven’t had the chance to try one of his delicious drinks, or if you’re a fan who just can’t wait to try them again, here are some of his recipes so you can craft them yourself at home. SALTY DOG RETOOLED
1.5 oz. (45ml) Absolut Vodka
.075 oz. (22ml) St. Germain Elderflower Liquer
1.5 oz. (45ml) Fresh Grapefruit Juce
0.25 oz. ((8ml) Fresh Lime Juice
2 Dashes Dale DeGroff Bitters
Basil Leaf Garnish (optional)
Frost the rim of a glass using kosher or sea salt. Build the drink over ice in the prepared glass and stir. Garnish with a basil leaf. Because the grapefruit juice can vary from sweet to very tart, adjust the sweet/sour with simple syrup or lime juice if needed.
2 oz. (60ml) Don Julio Blanco
0.5 oz. (15ml) Fresh Lime Juice
0.25 oz. (8ml) Yuzu Juice
0.75 oz. (22ml) Agave Syrup
Assemble the tequila, the agave syrup and the juices in a cocktail mixing glass. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass or over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
1.5 oz. (45ml) Mount Gay White Rum
0.25 oz. (8ml) Maraschino Liqueur
0.5 oz. (15ml) Grapefruit Juice
0.75 oz. (22ml) Fresh Lime Juice
Lime Wheel Garnish
Assemble the first four ingredients in a cocktail mixing glass and shake well with ice. Strain into a small cocktail glass. Garnish with the lime.
