Yvon and Cees Kloppenburg are currently on a seven-day western Mediterranean cruise on board Ryndam. They will be staying on for a second HAL cruise right after they complete this one and will be chronicling their back-to-back cruising experience for us on the blog. Here is their first entry, enjoy!
As usual the boarding procedures were went very smoothly, so around noon we were settled in our stateroom and could go straight to the sandwich corner on the lido deck.
At 4 p.m. all the guests, with no exceptions, had to gather at their lifeboat station. It was good to see that a crew member would call out your name to make sure you were in attendance. As a guest, it gives you are very good feeling and assures you a pleasant, “no worry” cruise.
Ryndam was moored this time close to the city, which gave us some fantastic scenery of the city from the upper decks. Yvon and I are regular visitors to Barcelona and when we first saw a cruise ship moored near the city center we said to ourselves, “hope that one day our cruise will start from there” and guess what… it did this time.
