Cruise Diary: Sept. 21, Portimao, Portugal

Aboard ms Rotterdam, calling at Portimao, Portugal.

Today the sun was shining all day long, reaching high temperatures. The Rotterdam was anchored off the coastline of Portimao and a full tender operation was taking place to bring the guests ashore.

Coaches were waiting to bring us to downtown and to the beach. We decided to go to the beach and stayed there for most of the day.

It was formal night again and we had our dinner at the Pinnacle Grill, our favorite dining place on formal nights. If you want the best lobster on Holland America Line ships, dine at the Pinnacle Grill and taste for yourself. But the choice to make is difficult because all of the food served there is the best you can get at sea. Thanks to Ferdinand (Pinnacle Grill manager) and all of the staff there — we had a good and delicious time again.

Cornelis “Cees” and Yvon Kloppenberg, Rotterdam to Athens on board ms Rotterdam.
