Cruise Diary: Mariner Lunch

Yvon and Cees Kloppenburg are currently on a seven-day western Mediterranean cruise on board Ryndam. They will be staying on for a second HAL cruise right after they complete this one and will be chronicling their back-to-back cruising experience for us on the blog.

It is a fact that Holland America Line has the most repeaters on their cruises. They give them the proud title of Mariner. The more days you spend on their cruises, the higher your Mariner status will be. The Mariner status grants cruisers access to special facilities and discounts.

As a show of respect, Holland America Line hosts a Mariner lunch on every cruise which is attended by the captain and the cruise director.

Every day we meet Firat, originally from Istanbul, in the dining room and he teaches us a new word in Turkish, which we enjoy.
