Guest Sharon Johnson and her husband cruised again with HAL, this time on Zaandam’s 21-Day Collectors’ Voyage to Mexico and Hawaii. Sharon chronicled their cruising experience for us on the blog. What’s your favorite HAL dining experience?
Al and I had an awesome meal in the Pinnacle Grill last. The Le Cirque meal was the best meal that we have had on any Dam Ship. And it was extra special since the Pinnacle Grill Staff aboard the Zaandam are fabulous.
Our appetizer, Le Trio: Caviar, Smoked Salmon and pâté de foie gras.
Butternut Squash Soup with Huckleberries. The Huckleberries was a interesting combination with the squash.
For my main course, I had Rack of Lamb with goat cheese, panisse, artichokes and arugula.
It was absolutely delicious and very tender. The meat was cooked just right.
Al had Chateaubriand with horseradish flan, sweet and sour baby beets. It was absolutely the best piece of meat that he has ever tasted.
For dessert we both had chocolate soufflé with vanilla gelato. It was divine!
Our Maitre d’ Jorn took this photo of me and Al. He must have taken lots of photos as he arranged the flowers just so before taking it. The little dish has some sweets for us to have with our coffee.

As if the Le Cirque meal wasn’t enough! When we got back to our room there was a small box on our bed with two truffles for us to have before going to bed from Holland America Line’s Le Cirque. What a surprise and an absolutely wonderful ending to such an incredible meal. – Sharon & Al
