We have returned to Barcelona where the second part of this wonderful cruise will start. We said goodbye to the fellow guests we have met and are now meeting the new guests. Barcelona is one of our favorite cities. Although we have visited here many times we always discover new things when we return. The taxi driver who took us from the terminal to the Ramblas gave us some advice on what to do and what to see. At the end of the Ramblas you will find a monument called Mirador de Colom. During past visits to Barcelona, I took pictures of it that were also published on the HAL blog.
We were not aware that there is an elevator in the tower which takes you 55 meters up to a very small platform. From there you have a marvelous view over the city. We took a walk over the Ramblas and later did some shopping in a famous Spanish store known called Des Ingles.
Once we returned to the ship, we saw busy stateroom stewards taking guests luggage to their staterooms.
After a warm day in a busy city, Yvon took a nice swim in the aft swimming pool. Our cruise continues. Next up is a day at sea. There’s so much to do on board so we will keep you posted!
Cornelis “Cees” Kloppenburg and his wife Yvon are reprising their role as cruise diarists, this time on board Ryndam. They will be sending in cruise diaries throughout the duration of their time on board. Enjoy!
