Holland America Line proudly sponsored the annual Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus Gala Dinner and Auction Saturday May 6, 2017. I was honored to be the chair of this year’s “All Aboard” theme gala. Representing Holland America Line at the event were Greg Crick, director family assistance and group services; Pamela Baade, manager corporate giving; DJ Baker, sr. manager art direction; Michele Peijs, deputy director engine shipboard personnel; John Peijs, Director Marine Hotel Ops; Pierre Van Breda,Manager Charter and Incentive Sales; Jeffrey Cohen, Manager Port/Shore Ops; Brendan Schenk, Manager Mobile and Web Applications. Stijn Creupelant, director fleet manning operations for Seabourn, also was there.
The combined chorus is the largest LGBTQ coral group in the world! The mission statement of the chorus is, “Our voices transform society through innovative and entertaining programs that build community, illuminate the experiences of LGBTQ people and their allies, expand inclusion, and inspire justice.”
The funds raised at the gala assist the chorus in spreading their word of inclusion, love, diversity and community throughout the Pacific Northwest and globally, wherever in the world they perform. In addition, they have several outreach community programs that welcome and assist LGBTQ youth in having a sense of belonging, acceptance and family.
It was truly an inspiring evening for all who attended from all walks of life!
