October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To honor National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re going to post an On Deck for the Cure fact every day we post this month.

Holland America Line’s Seattle headquarters is hosting its 5th annual On Deck for the Cure Walk today Friday, Oct. 1. Holland America Line associates will participate in the 5K walk to raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. More than $15,000 has been donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure through the employee-based On Deck for the Cure Walk since it’s inception in 2006.

Holland America Line’s ship-based On Deck for the Cure program partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and allows guests to make donations for walking laps around the deck on each cruise. Walks occur on more than 500 cruises annually. This year, Holland America Line surpassed the $2.1 million mark in contributions for this program, earning it a place on Komen’s prestigious Million Dollar Council.
