Eurodam was at Port Everglades Sunday, March 13, and the ship was ready to show off all of the upgrades and enhancements that took place during the dry dock in December. A group of media were invited to check out the new decor and have lunch at the Pinnacle Grill. Holland America Line President Orlando Ashford hosted the event, which also was attended by Carnival Corporation President & CEO Arnold Donald.
The results are truly fantastic. Eurodam has been left with a fresh, new look and vibrant new features that are not only exciting and entertaining, but also lovingly designed to highlight the best aspects of the Holland America Line cruise experience in a way that will appeal to the line’s loyal Mariners and new guests alike. — Aaron Saunders for Avid Cruiser
Attendees were able to see the upgraded suites, visit the new Gallery Bar, hear the different offerings at Music Walk and taste some delicious dishes that will be featured on Koningsdam. Come along and see all of Eurodam’s enhancements.
Meet Master Mixologist Dale DeGroff
After cocktails, the group enjoyed performances at Billboard Onboard, Lincoln Center Stage and B.B. King’s Blues Club.
By replacing the once-underutilized Northern Lights nightclub with the Gallery Bar, the Eurodam has a new watering hole that can feature the signature cocktails of celebrity mixologist Dale DeGroff. It’s a fun space with a potpourri of framed art prompting conversation. — Jason Leppert for Travel Pulse
Culinary Council members also created signature hors d’oeuvres for the event.
Music Walk Has Genre For Everyone
You might remember the former Piano Bar that used to be here: a cool but closed-off space that guests either walked past or couldn’t get seating in. Now, with the walls completely removed and the Sports Bar gone, the new Billboard Onboard encourages guests walking past the casino or to and from the main show lounge to stop and linger. It’s a great idea that improves the experience of all guests by subtly suggesting to them that they should stop, mingle, or grab a seat and a cocktail and listen to the evening’s performance. This is one of the best refits I’ve personally seen on a ship – and I’ve seen a lot. — Aaron Saunders for Avid Cruiser
Overall, the refit indicates a modernized, upscale and hipper brand that will appeal to a broad demographic while still retaining the class and decorum expected by the venerable line’s core clientele. — David Yeskel for TravelAge West
The Suite Life is Sweeter on Eurodam
During the refit, Eurodam’s suites received numerous upgrades, including new furnishings, a USB outlet added to the bed’s headboard, bedside LED reading lights, a new interactive television system and bathroom makeover.
