Captain Albert’s Back!

captain_albert_head

Captain Albert Schoonderbeek returns from leave today to take the helm of Prinsendam at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. During his time off, Captain Albert was not posting to his blog regularly, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t still doing historical research on Holland America Line. Indeed, he posted some new historical content Dec. 23 and his holiday greetings on Dec. 25.

No doubt his first days back on the bridge are going to be hectic, but we’re sure Captain Albert will get back into the swing of posting to his blog very soon, so check back here regularly, or sign up on Captain Albert’s Blog home page to receive e-mail notification when he posts a new entry.

Welcome back, Captain Albert!

Did Captain Halle Thon Gundersen retire? He always had that circuit South America cruise that left in early January….he was wonderful, wonderful….not that Captain Albert wasn’t! He was our Captain on the Veendam several times…

    Hi Madeline,
No, Captain Gundersen is still with HAL. In fact, he just rejoined Prinsendam last week. Perhaps he decided to give Captain Albert a turn at rounding South America 🙂
    Best,
    Julie
