Zuiderdam’s Celebrity Cookoff

Recently on board Zuiderdam, Guest Chef Paul Carter, executive chef of The Phoenician in Phoenix, Ariz., and Hotel Manager Kees van Santen battled it out in a fun culinary showdown in the ship’s Culinary Arts Center. In the end there could only be one winner. Congrats to Hotel Manager van Santen for his winning dish made up of orzo pasta with mascarpone, sun-dried tomatoes, scallions and Parmesan Cheese, bacon wrapped prawn and a corn meal crusted scallop. The dish was topped with pine nuts and spinach and served with a ginger orange sauce, pink peppercorns and basil oil.

The winning dish: Prawn and Scallop Tower with Orzo Pasta and Ginger Orange Sauce.
