Popular Dutch Entertainers Wow Guests on Summer Cruises

Guests of all nationalities are in for a special treat this summer when two popular Dutch entertainers take to the main stage aboard ms Rotterdam and ms Ryndam while the ships are in Europe.

Iris Kroes, season two winner of “The Voice of Holland,” and magician Ronald Moray will be on several northern Europe and Baltic sailings from June through September.

While onboard Kroes will sing and play her harp, demonstrating why she was crowned the winner of the Dutch singing competition. Moray will amaze guests with his magic act, as well as perform table magic in the dining room and bars.

Kroes, a singer and harpist, is best known as the winner of the reality television competition show “The Voice of Holland,” which she won in December 2012. She also played in a Drachten-based rock duo band. Kroes was on Rotterdam’s June 7 cruise and shared some fun photos and a video from her travels on her Facebook page.

Iris posted photos of her travels to Mariehann, St. Petersburg, Tallinn and Riga on her Facebook page.

No stranger to Holland America Line with previous shipboard appearances, Moray will perform on eight sailings aboard Rotterdam. One of the finest magicians in Europe, Moray was invited to perform at the wedding of the Netherland’s HRH Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima. He won the Dutch Championship of Magic, as well as the highest award at the World Championship of Magic in the “Mental Magic” category. Moray will be onboard Rotterdam’s June 21 and 28; July 19 and 26; Aug. 16 and 30; and Sept. 6 and 13 cruises.

In addition to special performers, Holland America Line features an array of entertainment options and activities each evening. When Kroes and Moray aren’t performing in the main show lounge, additional acts and the ships’ resident singers and dancers entertain guests with exciting production shows. The bars and lounges also feature other resident musicians, from the upbeat HALCats to the intimate pianist in the Piano Bar. Guests can dance the night away in the disco or sing along to the music while enjoying a cocktail.

The headline on this entry got my immediate attention, as we are booked for a sailing on board ms Rotterdam later this summer.
Alas, my interest quickly turned to disappointment, when I discovered that neither of these two appealing entertainers will be appearing on our sailing, which is August 2!
Too bad, as I am sure that we would have very much enjoyed a performance by either of them!

    Dear Marj,

Fortunately, Ronald Moray’s performance dates have been altered and the ‘Dutch Master of Magic’ will now be joining you on Rotterdam’s August 2 sailing to the North Cape.

I’m looking forward welcoming you onboard.
