A sea of signatures surrounds that of Her Royal Highness Princess Máxima of the Netherlands, Godmother to Nieuw Amsterdam. All guests on board the three-day inaugural voyage were asked to sign the wall, which will be permanently installed on the ship.

Mary Moore and Nieuw Amsterdam’s 3rd Engineer, Rob Matthews, sent in these pictures of the impressive LED-chandelier getting installed in the ship’s Atrium.
Here is a close-up of the crystal centerpiece [in the Atrium] which reflects the skyline of New York. If you take the photo from a certain angle, the lights from the Ocean Bar shine on top of the torch of the Statue of Liberty, making it look like the torch is burning.
